Alan Goldman
Director, Writer & Producer
Alan began his career in radio and was part of the award-winning team that produced the five-part national CBC Radio documentary series A Matter of Survival, hosted by Dr. David Suzuki. He is the founder of Blue Plate Productions, which specializes in the creation of prestige documentaries.
Alan produced the award-winning Glowing In The Dark, which looks at the history of neon light in Vancouver, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. His semi-autobiographical film Who The Jew Are You? premiered on Rogers Omni and was screened at festivals across North America.Alan’s new feature documentary Finding Freedom, is about four refugees and captures the brutal reality of seeking international asylum in the pursuit of a new life. He has taught courses in the field of film of documentary and digital media at numerous private and public institutions. He completed his MAA at Emily Carr University of Art + Design with a focus on the effect of 3D on documentary filmmaking.
